    Hi Enzo, I'm sorry for the continuous comments but does your 500 pound 1-1 coaching include help with getting sponsors. Also I want to call a company for sponsorship I have sent them an email and they haven't replied yet. If I were to call them what do I say. Would I say can I have a meeting for sponsorship. I have watched all your sponsorship videos. Thanks

      Hello. Emails for sponsorship hardly ever works because it is just too salesy. My main field is driver performance but I can obviously advise on sponsorship but in my opinion, buy Brian Sims’ books and all you need to know is in there. Save your money and learn on the go. It really is the best way. Study sales in general.

    I know you're right, Enzo. But as an introvert, I get exhausted just thinking about what I would need to do to help my son "graduate" from karting into cars. My son is even worse; he hides in the race van between heats and rarely speaks to anyone outside his comfort zone. I feel really bad about this. He has the talent and a lot of good results in national karting (in Sweden), but I feel I just don't have what it takes to go to the next level.

    • @EnzoMucci
      @EnzoMucci 5 дней назад

      Hi Markus. One thing is for sure, if you want to get people to back you then you need to win them over on both the emotional side and for sponsorship on the business side. So being quiet and not forthcoming is a ferret killer. However, it just means that you need to team up with someone who can be the face of your campaign and get infront of people for you. On top of this work on building your sons confidence, he is going to need that and connect with people of he is to be hired by top manufacturers in the sport. There are plenty of super successful introverts out there but they learned early on that they have to get comfortable with being uncomfortable, if they want to achieve their dreams.

    Hi Enzo, I'm trying to get sponsored to race in the Saudi F4 championship and i sent you an email I don't really know how to approach companies for a sponsor. I have 2 months left to raise 130,000 dollars. It looks like a big mountain to climb do you have any tips and is it possible to book a call with you. Thanks

    • @EnzoMucci
      @EnzoMucci 9 дней назад

      $130,000 is cheap for a racing championship but you need to answer this - How am I going to create a business model that delivers $130,000 of value for a company? When you figure that out and how it can be linked to motorsport, then you have something to sell. Getting sponsorship for the lower levels is no joke, you have to work at it for years unless you know of someone who will gift it to you. It’s not right and it’s not easy but this is how the sport is. It’s expensive to run a car. Look for something cheaper, win in it and build things up from there.

      Mansell lost five years in a row to Elio De Angelis at Lotus. Then he lost to Keke Rosberg at Williams 1985. Then Prost whooped his arse at Ferrari 1990. Mansell also had a losing record against Mario Andretti, Damon Hill and Mika Hakkinen. Against Berger it was pretty even. The only teammate he ever beat was Patrese. He even lost to injured Piquet in 1987 and lost the championship in the best car. Mansell had six world champion teammates... and he lost to every single of them.

    • @smokeybirdman

      @@detonator2112 🤔 doesn't Mansel have more wins than all of them except prost - wasn't he competing successfully in the states being the only driver to hold both titles? Didn't he have the most pole position in a season beaten by vettel? Didn't he win the Australian f1 over the age of 40, a record likely to never be broken? The championship he lost to Prost was bad luck with his tyre.. Right. And wasn't he called the Lion -

      Yes I would say go and get a part time job in the industry, even if it is helping out on track days. At least you will be at the track and seeing what it is all about. Also just have a small goal to start with, like first of all just driving a car on a track or test day and take it from there.

    This is great Enzo! This dashboard approach closely parallels what I do in my day job for various managerial functions as it allows you to measure your progress and zoom in on where the issues preventing progress are. It is extremely important to be able to measure your progress (or lack thereof) if you hope to have any chance to improve your performance. The fact that this system takes a (please forgive the use of this term) holistic approach is key as driver development occurs both on and off the track. I will link to this in both my Driver Development and Business of Being a Race Driver columns. Excellent guidance!

    Hello Enzo, I’m thirteen and I would like to get into more serious karting. My parents are not really into the idea of getting me a kart because of the cost but I would still like to do it seriously. I have minimal gear but I can probably afford the majority of the things I need for it. What do you think I should do in this situation to prove to my parents that I’m worth putting money into and what rental I can do cause right now I don’t really have an idea. (Quick note: I am not the best person that goes to my karting due to the fact that the majority of people that do rental with my have nearly double the track time I have. I have also stayed in indoor but I should be doing outdoor soon.) (I usually average top 5 in my karting and one of or if not the most consistent on track.) (My goal currently is to just make it in karting and my aspirations are either F1 or stuff like endurance or GT)

    What a lot or even all of you are missing is Nigel Mansell was rarely ever the number one driver on the team. In 1991 and 1992 Nigel Mansell was the number one on the team, at Ferrari in 1989 Nigel Mansell may have been considered the number one driver but the 1989 Ferrari while a very good car when it did not break was just to unreliable in 1990 Prost had signed with Ferrari and was the number one driver and it showed as Ferrari has always played favorites. Prost spoke fluent Italian and Nigel did not so that was another strike against Nigel at Ferrari. Nigels first stint at Williams Nigel was not the outright number one driver. At Lotus Peter Warr did not like Mansell and Mansell was never the number one driver and when Lotus switched to Renault power Warr did not provide the Renault power unit to Mansell until they had it for several races. Arguably the only time Nigel Mansell was the outright number one driver was 1991 and 1992 at Williams.

    Hi Enzo, I need some advice. I'm aiming for F1. I'm currently 16 and have been karting for 7 years. I have 247 race wins and I have recently been spotted to race in GB3 but I can't afford it so I have been trying to get sponsorship. I'm offering a package that includes lots of media coverage, corporate event opportunities, opportunities to get in contact with other businesses and I have a decent platform myself of around 21k followers on Instagram. I have so far had no success in getting sponsorship (I've sent about 200 emails so far, and I think the content of the emails are quite good) so I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I was wondering if you could give me some help please?

    • @EnzoMucci
      @EnzoMucci 21 день назад

      Hi Josh. First off don’t let a team talk you into going straight to GB3. It’s not a place to learn the craft, better off starting with GB4. Sponsorship will be super hard due to there being nothing of value for a company if it’s the usual “I want to go racing and please help” route. Look for championships that cost about £30k (club racing) and hustle to get the money for that for the rest of 2024. Then win that and use 2025 to attract sponsors for GB4 in 2026.

    OMG! YES!!!! Listening to what the car likes is so totally the key to being quick in it. My cars have all had personalities and they have all been different. It is so critically important to let your car tell you what it likes and what it doesn't like. I've had crew chiefs tell me from the computer what they think I need to do but honestly, I am way better at figuring out what my car needs then a computer and a crew chief.
